The awards follow a rigorous three-stage evaluation by a distinguished jury to select the final winners. With over 150 entries focusing on transformative changes in areas like Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Experience, Finance, Manufacturing, Human Capital, and Enterprise Transformation, the competition was steep. ITL bagged the coveted INDUS Board Special Recognition category, excelling over numerous strong competitors. From Invoice Overload to Automation Excellence: ITL’s Path to ACE Award Victory
As glorious as it sounds, the journey was full of challenges and roadblocks. All the credit goes to ITL’s unwavering commitment to innovation and bold willingness to adopt transformative solutions.
As a global manufacturing leader, ITL operates a state-of-the-art facility and a multi-tiered, stringent production line backed by a robust supply chain. They deal with over 1,500 to 2,000 invoices daily with the requisite materials each, requiring meticulous validation and approval, from gate entry to invoice generation.
It was a daunting task. Managing these invoices was time-consuming, required extensive manpower, and was prone to errors.ITL realized that their AP processes were ripe for automation – preferably SAP Build Process Automation (SBPA) to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. They partnered with us, using SAP Build Process Automation (SBPA) to automate their AP process.
Challenges Turned into Opportunities
The scale of the challenge was immense, particularly with over 1,000 suppliers, a volume never before managed through SBPA in our industry. ITL needed a partner who not only understood their business logic but was also committed to timely delivery within a clearly defined deployment and adoption plan. Armed with our extensive industry knowledge and expertise in SAP BTP, we embraced this challenge head-on, determined to drive ITL’s automation journey to success.

We harnessed SBPA to create intelligent bots tailored to ITL’s specific business language and operations. These bots, integrated with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) efficiently handled tasks from reading invoices to generating credit/debit notes.
The impact of this AP automation using SBPA on ITL’s operational efficiency was profound. Processes that previously took days were now being completed much faster. The bots’ precision drastically minimized manual errors, enhancing data accuracy and ensuring compliance. Beyond improving internal operations, this project also fortified ITL’s relationships with vendors and enhanced the overall efficiency of their supply chain.
This initiative set a new industry standard, demonstrating how strategic automation can transform business processes and lead to significant operational improvements.
